How It Works
Compare A Trader.com is a new advertising portal for both local trades people and businesses to advertise themselves to potential customers (whether they be residential or commercial customers), where they can let their past work speak for itself, where their work has been assessed by their previous customers and displayed for the benefit of their future potential customers.
Customers can either search for a specific trader they know or can conduct a new search for a trade person. To conduct a search on this site, customers have to select which category their job falls into and if necessary or desired to enter the specific service they are looking for in the search box found on the home page. Customers can view a full list of the categories and services on offer from either the link inside the search box or click here. Customers are asked for their postcode (this needs to be the postcode where the job is to be conducted), as via our search engine they will only be shown trade peoples and service providers who have chosen to advertise in that area. To ensure that the correct results will be displayed to the customer in their search results, the customer must select if the job is for a residential or commercial property. We also offer an urgent trader search to customers who are looking for a solution to an immediate problem. These urgent traders will range from 24 hour a day call outs through to extended hours trades people.
By clicking the search button a customer will be presented with their search results which are displayed in a random order, by using the search filters, a customer can prioritise their results as they see fit according to the feedback which previous customers have left for our subscribers.
By clicking into the profile the customer is able to read all about the tradesperson and is able to see what payment forms they accept, the hours of business that they operate as well as all the previous feedback that has been left by previous customers, as well as all their contact information and much more.
Customers are also able to either compare a selection of traders side by side and / or they can email the trades person from the site (to email trades people from the site a customer must be a registered customer with us – it is free to join and enables customers to email a group of trades people asking the same questions simultaneously, whilst at the same time without divulging their personal information).
When the customer has found the trades person or service provider for their job and the work is complete, they can either leave feedback online or ask their trades person for a postal feedback card, so that they can leave feedback about the trades person for their future customers.
By leaving feedback a customer will automatically be entered into our recurring monthly voucher draw. Please email us for details of how you can recive details of past winners.
