Compare A Trader is an online information service that allows customers (both domestic and commercial) to search for local trades people, who are able to offer the required service in that particular area. All our members have been rated by their past customers, so that their future customers can rest assured that they will find the right trades person for their job. We actively encourage any feedback on any of our members (incentivised by our monthly £100 voucher draw), either via our online submission process or via the postal ratings cards we have supplied to our members. The customer will also be shown useful information regarding each trades person (including payment forms accepted by the trades person, call out charges and portfolio of the trades person past works and much more) as well as any relevant qualifications the trades person has attained. Our trades people pay a flat fee to advertise with us, which works out more cost effective to them and consequently to the end customer. Other advertising portals are not as cost effective as we are because some charge their members:

• Large percentage commissions based on the the final value of the job,
• To quote or buy the customers contact information for each job online.

We think this is unfair on the trades people, as well as on the end customer, who indirectly pays the bill for these over inflated rates that their trades people have to pay. We also offer several key differences to other sites in that we also offer an urgent trader search, which allows customers to search only for traders who are specialised into offering urgent repairs to their property. We have also made it possible for this site in its entirety to be used with most mobile devices and handsets, so help is never far away. There is much more to Compare A Trader.
